Sitting in my office writing this piece, I have the freedom of speech guaranteed by the US Constitution.
If I leave my house — all bets are off.
I must leave my “so-called” freedoms at home, and I’m at the mercy of the federal government until I return.
Even the private sanctity of my home is under threat by our elected leaders.
The Pronoun Police
If I meet someone who looks like a man or woman or other, I can expect a verbal beatdown if I refer to them in a manner that only THEY deem offensive.
When did the two sexes become 131? When did “I” become “we” or “they.?”
Bill C-16 in Canada, formally known as “An Act to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code,” introduces gender identity and gender expression to the roster of criteria protected against discrimination within the country.
Its primary objective is to guarantee that transgender and gender non-binary people receive the same legal protections as everyone else, targeting the discrimination and hate crimes they face.
Notably, the bill does not make the incorrect use of pronouns a criminal offense (YET)…
