How I Got Into Radio Broadcasting

I grew up about 60 miles from St. Louis — home of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

Most neighborhood kids my age (6–12) played baseball anywhere we could.

No vacant lot was safe. An old hub cap for second base, a brick for first and the game was on.

We emulated our heroes at the plate, and all wished to be the one to get the game winning hit. But…
